Is ‘The Establishment’ Getting It?

Through the many years I have done this work World awareness has shifted remarkably. People have begun to think differently and to open their minds to the energetic mystery of the Universe and therefore of course our place within it. I’m not just talking about scientifically and politically, but spiritually, energetically and morally.

However, as ever, the last people in the queue for understanding and true responsibility tend to be those in power. Obviously they have a history of watching their own backs in the political games of the present. Most of them are simply short sighted, selfish and out for that moment of instant recognition – whatever the long term result. Some other poor bastard can clean that little mess up.

There is one step beyond that though. How do we, as thinking sentient beings, allow dictators and quite frankly nutters into positions of power that not only make a whole country miserable but allow the potential for death and destruction for the entire planet to hover at their fingertips in the form of nuclear weapons? Did you know that there is a clock (metaphorical) on which those in the know set the ‘time’ for the destruction of the human race? It is called the Doomsday Clock. It’s symbolic clock face is set according to how close the world is to global disaster. The closer to midnight the closer the disaster. Recently it was set at 11.55, in other words incredibly close to destruction both by nuclear weapons and global warming.

Yet the very presence of the clock highlights our awareness of our ability as a race to self-destruct. Such awareness, especially on such a terrifyingly volatile subject, tends to kick even the most apathetic into action.

The ‘Establishment’ is moving (although as slowly as a slug on valium) to a position of greater awareness. One is less likely to hear of the old style arrogant dismissal of eco-problems or of those with non-traditional ideas. As we build our own awareness individually there is a natural energetic shift which finally influences the most thick skinned power monger. Even if they only bow to the will of the people.

We are an incredible race of beings that have already survived a convoluted and often violent history. We have come now to a point where personal responsibility and awareness can and does influence the whole.  Politicians and even financiers are people too! They have people in their lives who may think differently (particularly children) and who refuse to bow to the old school establishment. The Establishment is after all made up of individuals whom each of us has the ability to influence. We need to stop thinking of it as an unreachable machine and to tackle the many cells that create the whole body.

This is an on-going process but the results are beginning to percolate through. I will leave you with this inspiring short talk made to the international community by none other than Paddy Ashdown politician, diplomat and a member of the House of Lords.
